Welcome to Wildwood Racquet + Wellness Club’s Junior Programs, where young athletes begin their journey into the world of tennis. We offer a structured pathway for juniors, from beginners to high-performance players. Our professional staff is dedicated to developing both athletic skills and personal growth in a supportive environment.

2025/2026 Junior Tennis Programs (August 4th 2025 – May 31st 2026)
Junior Programs
Junior Aces (Ages 3 & 4)
Our Junior Aces program is for our 3- and 4-year-old players. This class will prioritize athletic skill development in a fun environment. Players will be introduced to tennis skills, while focusing on hand eye coordination, balance, agility, and fun exercises to start building an athletic base.
Days/Times (Session 3: 1/5-3/15)
Mondays: 4:00 – 4:30 pm
Tuesdays (Home School Program): 11:30 am – 12:00 pm
Wednesdays: 4:00 – 4:30 pm

Aces (Ages 5-7)
Our Aces program is for our 5–7-year-old players. This class will utilize the lower compression red ball and the smaller 36’ court. In this class students will be building upon their athletic development as well as start learning tennis specific techniques and movement. This class will all be based around having fun while trying to learn the basic concepts of stroke development and rallying skills.

Mondays: 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Tuesdays (Home School Program): 12:00 – 1:00 pm
Wednesdays: 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Saturdays: 9:00 – 10:00 am

We will be having select Friday match play opportunities from 4:00-6:30 PM. Schedule to be posted at the start of each session.
Junior Elite (Ages 8-11)
Our junior elite program is for our 8-11-year-old players. This class will be utilizing the orange ball on the 60’ court and the green ball on the regulation tennis court. We will be building upon the foundations that were started in the Aces program and get into more detail on stroke development, tennis specific movement, building on rallying skills, and tennis specific strategies. It is recommended to start participating in 2 days of classes at this level to get the most out of your tennis and athletic development. Our junior elite program will naturally progress players to compete and play matches and tournaments.

Beginner Middle School & High School
For the Middle Schooler or High Schooler that is new to tennis. This will be a progressive class that will build upon the fundamentals every week. This class will use transition balls, and a very active and fun environment utilizing as many ball touches as possible every week. Throughout the session we will move up balls and get to the full-size court by the end of the session. When finishing this session, the player will have the fundamentals to be able to join our middle school and high school classes.

Homeschool Middle School & High School
For the homeschooled Middle Schooler or High Schooler looking to develop their tennis game. This progressive class builds upon foundational skills each week in an active and engaging environment. Players will maximize their time on court with plenty of ball touches and dynamic drills designed to keep things fun and challenging. We’ll work our way through progressions that naturally develop technique, consistency, and confidence, with players advancing at a pace that matches their growth throughout the session.

Middle School Development
For players entering Middle School (6th -8th grade) who have recreational experience or have played at the middle school and high school level. This class will help develop players with the goal to play on and/or advance on their middle school and high school tennis teams. Students will receive instruction on fundamental techniques, rules, and strategies. Players will be grouped based on age and ability. Drills will be tailored to their abilities. As players progress in their development, they will have the opportunity to advance to the Academy program by playing in USTA tournaments and meeting the Academy requirements.

Sundays: 2:00 – 3:30 pm

High School Development
For players entering High School (entering 9th-12th grade) who have recreational experience or have played at the middle school and high school level. Wildwood Academy
This program is tailored for the tournament player seeking a high-intensity environment. Students will focus on refining technique, tactical strategies, and physical conditioning to elevate their game to competitive levels. Drills and match situations will provide a challenging experience, ensuring players develop a competitive edge. This class will be broken into groups based on current UTR (Universal Tennis Rating), work ethic and attitude.
This class is a 2-day minimum commitment with an optional 3rd day and additional match play opportunities. There will be a 30-minute tennis specific fitness session with our on-staff strength and conditioning specialist Tuesday and Thursday. They will be on court or in the fitness center for these training sessions.

Wildwood Academy Eligibility Requirements
- Have a minimum of a 2.0 UTR
- Played in a minimum of 4 tournaments with 2 out of 3 set scoring (level 1-6 USTA)

Sunday Drop-In Cost: $36 for members | $48 for non-members
Session Match Play Select Fridays 4:00-6:00 PM. A schedule will be provided at the start of every session. Must be enrolled in a class to register.
Academy player recommended additional activities:
- Have a weekly private lesson with a certified professional
- 3-5 practice sets during non-tournament weeks
- Serve practice to targets on own, 3+ times a week
- Small group lesson, 3-4 players of like ability
- Additional off court training (strength and mobility training)
